Worth Fighting For: NJGAKAD’s New Campaign to Transform Young Lives

At New Jersey Give a Kid a Dream (NJGAKAD), we believe in something powerful: every child deserves someone in their corner. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce the launch of our WORTH FIGHTING FOR campaign — a bold initiative aimed at expanding our reach and deepening our impact on the youth who need us most.

For over two decades, Coach Jackie Atkins and a community of dedicated supporters have built NJGAKAD into more than just a program — it’s a sanctuary of hope, discipline, and transformation. Every day, we witness the incredible moment when a child realizes that someone believes in them, someone is fighting for them. This is where potential meets possibility.

More Than Just Boxing

NJGAKAD isn’t just about teaching kids to box. It’s about providing a comprehensive support system that addresses the whole child:

  • Physical fitness that builds strength, confidence, and discipline
  • Educational support to help them succeed academically
  • Trade skills that open doors to future careers
  • Health and wellness programs that nurture body and mind
  • Mentorship from adults who care deeply about their success

As our foundation has grown, we’ve expanded our facilities in Long Branch and Atlantic City to accommodate our growing programming needs. But with this growth comes the need for additional resources.

  • To increase awareness about the challenges facing at-risk youth and the transformative power of boxing, education, and mentorship
  • To engage the community meaningfully, allowing supporters to provide the resources necessary for our expanding program
  • To emphasize to our youth that they are worth the investment and that we—along with so many others—are willing to fight for them
